501 Auctions is a fast-growing yet close-knit technology firm. We help nonprofits raise $200mm+ annually by pairing our robust e-commerce and event management platform with exemplary customer service. We’re an energetic and open company seeking a leader with a passion to join our team.


Our Director of Technology will oversee our technology team and provide technical leadership for our company and platform. This role will play a significant role in determining the strategy and execution of company goals.



  • Collaborate with the Co-Founders and Directors to determine the vision and strategy for the platform
  • Choose specification, design, build, test, and deployment processes that most effectively support the tech team, product, and company
  • Manage the hiring and retention of developers, designers, and product manager; provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for the tech team and be be responsible for their mentorship and support
  • Work with the Product Manager to set the roadmap, features, and workplan for the product
  • Design a robust system of handoffs and checkpoints for work with external resources
  • Track and analyze technology key performance metrics and goals
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments


  • 4+ years experience hiring and managing technical teams
  • 8+ years experience building and delivering B2B SaaS platforms
  • Experience working with mobile-first design and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)
  • Fundamental understanding of frontend and server side programming languages
  • Experience designing and maintaining APIs and databases
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work successfully with a distributed team


Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
  • Needs to occasionally move about within the office to access supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs
  • Must be able to maintain written and oral communications with coworkers and clients
  • Must be able to work in an open office environment
