Overview

We are seeking an Accounting Associate to help with a range of bookkeeping functions and to ensure that our business stays well organized as we grow. This role would be primarily responsible for invoicing clients but would also assist with payables, reporting, office management, and human resources administration. A full summary of responsibilities can be found below.

 

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits. Employee will report daily to 501’s office in Richmond, Virginia.

 

Responsibilities

  • Issue invoices to our 1000+ customers; record and make deposits of receivables
  • Call clients to ensure that receivables are collected promptly
  • Answer client billing questions by phone and email
  • Manage payments to vendors of the company
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information and using reports from QuickBooks Online
  • Assist Head of Office with administrative tasks as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills and be highly detail oriented. They must be a self-starter and able to multi-task, establish priorities, and organize efficiently. Preference will be given to those with a working knowledge of QuickBooks.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
  • Needs to occasionally move about within the office to access supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to maintain written and oral communications with coworkers and clients
  • Must be able to work in an open office environment
